James Franklin Farnum, b. 1811, Peru, Vermont and
d. 1900 in
Brimfield and Laura Davis, b. 1809 Chester,
Vermont and d. 1898 in Brimfield.
They were married in
1836 in Chester. They are both buried in Brimfield.
Laura
Farnum is a direct descendant of
Roger Williams of Rhode Island. |

Hiram Shane and his wife, Susan Stansbury Shane.
Hiram was born Dec 5, 1810 in Berkely county, WV and
died Dec. 3, 1962 at Jubilee Township. He and Noah
Alden were appointed the first justices of the peace in
1843. The lots where the ME church was built were
donated by Hiram Shane. Susan Stansbury was born
Feb. 12 1821 in Baltimore, Maryland and died Oct. 29,
1896 in Brimfield. They had 10 children: Mary Jane,
Charles Wesley, Daniel Franklin, Emma Virginia, Susan
Katherine, James Florival, William Comfor, Ida
Josephine, Ella Eliza, and Sarah Louise.
