If you can identify the person in this photo,
we'd love to
hear from you! Thank you so much! Peoria hosted a race from 1898 to
1912 pitting an ostrich against horses by pulling a surrey. It was part of the
Founder's Day Celebration. Even though it was more of an novelty than anything
else, the ostrich won over 80% of the races on a short track. |
