|Funeral Services For Mrs. Slane Held Saturday
Mrs. Nettie P Slane, 73, widow of the late Wilbur P. Slane, passed away in her home in Princeville unexpectedly Wednesday evening following a lingering illness.
She was born in Jubilee township June 17, 1883, a daughter of Charles William and Josephine Beall Lawrence. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Patton Slane September 19, 1915.
Mrs. Slane was deeply devoted to her family. She was a faithful member of the Princeville Presbyterian church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Josephine and Mary Vera of Princeville and Mrs. Susan Schertz of Peoria; one step-daughter, Mrs. Elza Peck of Peoria; two brothers, Asa and Luther Lawrence, both of Princeville; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and an only sister, Susan Lawrence.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian church with Rev. Ralph Walter officiating. Mrs. Hayden Cooper accompanied Richard Sibley as he sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Rock of Ages”. She was laid to rest in the Princeville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bryon Wear, Robert Smith, Ray Ralph, Ronald Slane, Harold Delbridge and Dale Beall.
