|DUSTON SCUDDER DIED AT HOSPITAL IN PEORIA
Dustin Scudder, 613 East Carroll street, passed away this morning at one o'clock at the St. Francis hospital in Peoria at the age of 84 years, six months, and 26 days. Death resulted from complications following an illness of two weeks.
Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. by Reverend Roy Stocking at the Dodsworth chapel and interment is to be in Mound cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until the hour of the services.
He was the son of Jesse Scudder and Matilda Scudder and was born at Industry on April 25, 1857. He lived in Nebraska for 18 years and then moved to Bardolph where he served as high school janitor for 17 years. He moved to Macomb in 1935.
He was married on April 2, 1882, to Alta Castle, who is deceased. He had been a member of the Bardolph Methodist church for 30 years. He leaves four children; Mrs. Charles Swartzbaugh of Macomb, Jesse Scudder of Adair, Roy Scudder of Littleton, and Mrs. Malissa Crosser of Bardolph.
One son, Irvin Scudder is deceased.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Rutledge of Adair, one brother, three sisters and a half-sister are dead. Charles Scudder, Julian Duncan, Alfa Landis, Mary Scudder, and Mrs. John Savage.
He leaves 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
