Fleming Norwood

Fleming Norwood was born in Kentucky in 1816. He moved to Illinois at an early date was united in n marriage to Miss Sarah Gooding who in 1895 preceded him to the better land.

To this union was born eight children all of whom survive him but one, Mrs. Dr. Herril
They are as follow, Amanda A., James, George, Mrs. Addie Brown, of Bloomington, Mrs. Belle Carpenter of Missouri, William and Leonard residing near Harkers Corners. he was a member of the U.P. church of Smithville. His pastor, Rev. Harper, conducted the funeral service which were Monday, May 18th, 1903, beginning at the house at two o'clock after which the remains were taken to the U.P. church where the sermon was preached. Internment at the Smithville cemetery.

Deceased was 87 years, 2 months 20 days old.
