L. S. HOFER LAID TO REST TUES. MORNING

L. S. Hofer, a well known retired farmer and business man entered into eternal rest Sunday evening, when he succumbed to suffering of some months duration, during which time all medical aid was summoned to relieve him of his pain. Mr. Hofer recently returned from a Peoria hospital, where he had been confined for a few weeks. Last Thursday he began to sink, until the end, which came Sunday evening.

Mr. Hofer was one of Princeville’s most respected citizens. Always cheerful disposition, his presence in and about town will be sorely missed by his friends who may be numbered in the hundreds.

Funeral services were held at the St. Mary of the Woods Church, yesterday morning, with many relatives and old friends present to pay tribute to their departed loved one. Rev. Fr, Gordon, pastor of the church officiated at the services. He was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.

Lucas Sylvester, son of Fredericka and Medarus Hofer, was born in Princeville, Illinois, February 3, 1861 and passed away at his residence Sunday, November 6, 1927 at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 3 days.

On September 3, 1889 he was married to Caroline Margaret Friedman. To this union four children were born—Theodore C. of Peoria, Harry w. of Stark, Harriette Hinnen of Peoria and Caroline F. of Iron Mountain, Michigan.
