Surviving - husband and children - Ann, Ida, Dell all at home; Mrs. George McKINNEY and Mrs. Nick WORTHINGTON. She came to Maple Ridge with parents at age 8yrs (8 and 15 Dec 1899)

ESSEX, Miss Lula - daughter of Rev. Essex. Died of Typhoid. Resided at Bayless (15 Sept 1899)

FARMER, Mrs. Rebecca - born 8 Dec 1816 Ohio; died 10 March 1899 - buried Maple Ridge Cemetery; married Samuel Farmer in Missouri. He died 1872- 4 sons and 1 daughter (2 sons and 1 daughter died young). Came to Illinois with husband in 1838 (17 March 1899)

FRANK, Isaac - 83yrs 7mos - died 24 Dec 1899 - buried Todd Cemetery. Old resident of Pennsylvania Ridge - had 16 children. Surviving - widow and 8 children (29 Dec 1899)

FRYMAN, George - born 11 April 1811 - died 30 Sept 1899 at home Thompson Twp - buried Shoup Cemetery - married 27 Aug 1835 Margaret PORTERFIELD - 9 children. GRAY, George - died near New Philadelphia, IL -6 miles East of Bushnell. Shot and killed by James MILLER on Wm. RICH farm where both worked (30 June 1899)

GREEN, Richard - born 16 July 1825 Limes County, W VA - died 2 June 1899 near Lindley, Sullivan County, MO - buried Lindley Cemetery. Married 11 Nov 1856 Rachael DUFFIELD. Surviving - widow and 5 children. Settled 1838 in Illinois with parents - to Missouri 1881. Resided at Glasford several years (23 June 1899)

GRISSOM, Joseph Robert - son of Wm. O. and Florence A. Grissom - born 22 Jan 1898- died 3 Sept 1899 - buried Kingston Cemetery. (8 Sept 1899)

HACKETT, Mayhew (PONY) - ca 30yrs - son of D. F. Hackett - resided at Bryant near Canton - married about 1 week. Suicide by strichnine after parents objected to marriage. Surviving - widow, parents, sibs: Mrs. Grace HANCOCK, Middle Grove; Mrs. Chas HARTER and unmarried sister at Avon; Mrs. J. SPRAGUE, Dunfermline; 4 brothers at home and twin brother, Elihu "Tobe" Hackett. (4 Aug 1899)

HAMMOND, Albert - ca 21yrs - died 12 June 1899 at Farmington. Son of George Hammond, wealthy farmer. Deceased was killed with a spade by Carey THURMOND during quarrel over Water Way (16 June 1899)

HEALEY, J. J. - died recently near Gladstone. Engineer on the "Q" - killed on train by bridge girder (31 March 1899)

HEISEL, Martin - Old respected citizen died 1 March 1899 at Pekin. Surviving - widow, 2 sons and 2 daughters (10 March 1899)

MERRIOTT, Mrs. Mary - nee PEARSON- born 14 Aug 1829 - died 13 Nov 1899 at home Orion Twp, Fulton Co, IL; married 20 Sept 1847 William Marriott - 11 children.  Surviving - husband and children:  George Merriott,  Brice Merriott, Mrs. Kate ALBRIGHT. Deceased came to Illinois in Spring of 1860.  Her husband came to Illinois Fall of 1857 (17 Nov 1899)

MOORE, Harriet Ellen - born 23 March 1899 - daughter of Jesse Moore of Glasford. She died 10 Sept 1899 - buried Kingston Cemetery (15 Sept 1899)

McCORMACK, Nelson - body exhumed 18 Dec 1899 from Ogden, Ten.n - then moved to Smithville Cemetery. He was father of Mrs. Sarah BOHANAN, 3 other daughters and 1 son. (8 Dec 1899)

POWELL, A.G. - 81yrs 1mo 25das- buried 13 Sept 1899 Maple Ridge Cemetery - 5 sons and 1 step-son were pallbearers (15 Sept 1899)

RADER, Walter - 14yrs - son of J. C. Rader - died 25 Dec 1888 Cando, ND- nephew of Editor (13 Jan 1899)

REEVES, Mrs. Elizabeth - died 23 April 1899 at Gilroy, Calif. - married Alfred Reeves - 12 children (3 children survive at Gilroy) Early settlers 1/2 mile North of Smithville. Moved to Gilroy in 1869.  Deceased is sister of late Keziah WATSON of Glasford.  Deceased is last of 5 sisters and 5 brothers.  One brother still living at age 88yrs.  All brothers and sisters had large families. All ten had over 80 children (5 May 1899)

ROBBINS, Clyde A. - 23yrs 7das - son of Beniah Robbins - died 11 Jan 1900 - buried Lancaster Cemetery.  Killed by limb while cutting tree. Surviving - father, 4 brothers and 1 sister.  Mother died 4yrs ago (12 Jan 1899)

SANDERS, John D. - born 15 May 1843 Peru, PA; died 17 Feb 1899 at Soldier's Home, Quincy, IL - buried Lancaster Cemetery.  Married 1855 Miss Elnora CRISER.  She now resides Soldier's Home at Quincy - 4 children (1 daughter and 3 sons deceased)  CWV - moved to Pekin after War (24 Feb 1899)

SILZEL, uncle of Mrs. S.  B.  - died Gramount, IL (4 Aug 1899)

SPRAGUE - Jesse - suicide by gun.  Brother-in-law, Mayhew HACKETT,  also committed suicide days before.  Surviving - widow, child, 1 brother and 3 sisters at Canton(4 Aug 1899)

STEARS, Gilberta - 9yrs - born Sept 1890 - died 19 May 1899 Edwards Station - died suddenly - complained of pain in head - convulsions and cramps (26 May 1899)

ULYSES, Mrs. Delilah WATSON  - 45yrs - died 19 March 1899 at home of her father , Thomas FRYMAN - buried Smithville Cemetery (24 March 1899) [possible typographical error by Gazette typesetters.  Could be Mrs. Ulyses (Delilah) WATSON??]

WATSON, Mrs. Keziah - nee GRENARD - born 15 Feb 1814 Maysville, Fleming Co, KY - died 21 Feb 1899 at Glasford - buried Smithville Cemetery - married 1832 W.S. Watson at Kentucky. He died 1872 age 72yrs - 7 children (2 sons deceased).  Surviving - 6 sons  and 1 daughter. One son is W. V. Watson.  A  brother is Jesse GRENARD at Waynestown, Indiana (24 Feb 1899 and 10 March 1899)
