Elmwood, Feb 27. - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy A. Clemmer, 85, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Patterson funeral home here, with the Rev. Francis A. Belote, Presbyterian minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery. Lucy Amanda Barrett, daughter of Asa and Julia McCumber Barrett, was born near Lewiston, Ill., Dec 18, 1856. She died at the home of her son, James B Clemmer of Elmwood, at 5:35 a.m. Thursday. On Aug 6, 1878, she was married to Thomas W. Clemmer, and there were the parents of eight children. All of their married life was spent in Hanna City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six of their children. Sixteen years ago, she came to Elmwood to make her home with her son James, and has resided here ever since. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cora E. Yinger of Chicago, the one son, James and his wife of Elmwood; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Hanna City Presbyterian church. |
