One of the oldest settlers of Timber township has passed away. His
death occurred at the residence of his son, Henry, Wednesday at 3:30
A.M., at the ripe old age of 85 years.
He was born in Hanover, Germany and came to this country 52 years
ago and has seen it grow from a wilderness into the fine farms of
today. He has been quite feeble of late and seldom came to town,
although on the day previous to his death he was out doors as usual
and had no cause to apprehend that the end was so near.
He had no illness that would portend death, but old age had
accomplished its work and he ???????.
???? funeral [procession will ????? house at 2 P.M. Friday and the
services held at the German church by Rev. Algiers, burial at the
German cemetery.
Deceased leaves six sons, Nicholas, Jordan, John, George, Edward,
and Henry and daughters Mrs. Mary Bollman, Peoria, and Mrs. Gaskie
Clauson of Kansas City.
