Mrs. Louella Christian Dies At Monica Home

Mrs. Louella Christian, 68, wife of John V. Christian and a lifelong resident of the Monica community, passed away at the home Thursday morning following an illness of about two years in duration.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Monica Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Rogers of Chillicothe, a former pastor and Rev. A. H. Northdurft of Princeville. Pallbearers were Ray DeBord, Ray Belford, Harry Belford, John Yerby, Everett Hill and Wm. Gelling. Interment was in the Princeville cemetery with the Bullock funeral home in charge.

Louella Fern, eldest daughter of Rebecca and Zephaniah Camp, was born in Millbrook township Nov.1 1873. She grew to womanhood in that vicinity and on Jan. 25, 1892 was married to Edward B. Duffy, who receded her in death on Sept. 1, 1926. To that union five children, Mrs. Rheba Brimblecom was passed away Sept. 13, 1939, Cecil who passed away Jan 13, 1918, Anna, Mrs. Georgia Mitchell and Emmett of Monica.

On Dec 24, 1928, she was married to John V. Christian, who survives. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, a step-daughter, Mrs. Ethel Brimblecom, a step granddaughter, Mrs. Evelyn Kneer. Three sisters, Mrs. Effie Ennis of Galesburg, Mrs. Orpha Weigner and Mrs. Else Keith of Peoria and five brothers William, Bryon and Earl, of Peoria and Joe and Hugh of Monica. A brother, Perry, died in 1934.

Mrs. Christian had one hobby cooking. Nothing pleased her more than to have a group of relatives or friends drop in at any time. They were always welcome.

In her declining year her grandchildren were a great source of joy and they helped brighten many a day for her.

Mrs. Christian will be sadly missed in the Monica Community.
