Thursday morning, May 21, at his home, occurred the death of Jacob Bruniga, surrounded by his family. Mr. Bruniga was born in Germany in 1827 and came to this country in 1851. He was married in 1861 to Caroline Fitchen who still survives. To this union was born fourteen children, two of which died in infancy, leaving twelve remaining, six boys and six girls, viz: John, Edward, George, William, Jacob, Rudolph, Minnie, Hannah, Etta, Jennie, Anna and Lana. These, with the mother are left to mourn the loss of husband and father.

Mr. Bruniga's last days on earth were happy ones and his last words were, "I am going home." He was 75 years and 10 months old, having lived the three score and ten allotted to man and more.
The funeral took place Saturday at 1 o'clock from his late residence to the Pleasant Grove church, conducted by Rev. Gibson, and internment in Pleasant Grove cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. Thus the angel of death has reaped another loved one from our community.
