| FRED C. BLISS, 60, PASSES IN PEORIA Fred C. Bliss, 60, passed away Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edgar C. Hargadine, 2209 Knoxville avenue, in Peoria, following a long illness. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Tretheway funeral home her and interment was in the Princeville cemetery. Mr. Bliss had been ill since last December and he and his wife had been making their home with their daughter, having lived in Peoria for more than 20 years. He was born Sept. 24, 1882, the son of John F. and Dora Bobrer Bliss. He was married here in September 1906, to Miss Bernice Aby. Following her death he married Miss Erma Riddell, May 15, 1918. He was a traveling salesman for the Willard storage battery company and later associated with the Central Illinois Light company. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Hargadine of Peoria and Miss Mildred Bliss of Princeville; one son, John Frederick, somewhere in Australia; one sister, Miss Bertha Bliss of San Leandro, Calif., and two brothers Robin and Lewis Bliss. His father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Bliss, three half brothers, Palmer of Peoria, Earl of Brimfield and John M. of Princeville and on half sister, Mrs. Leo Graves, Jr., also of Princeville and four grandchildren, Louise, Billy, Jim and John Hargadine of Peoria, also survive. |
