| L. BLANCHARD RITES SATURDAY AT PRINCEVILLE Lucius B. Blanchard, 68, a department store operator at Princeville more than 20 years ago and later employed in a responsible position at Roszell’s dairy here, died in Minneapolis Thursday, according to word received here. The body will be returned toe Princeville for burial and funeral services are set for 2 p. m. CST, Saturday at the Tretheway funeral home. The Rev. John Bliss will officiate. Mr. Blanchard, a relative of various Blanchards in the vicinity of Princeville was born at Princeville Dec. 6, 1873, a son of Boliver and Amy Reeves Blanchard. He left Princeville in 1921 for Peoria and a few years later remove to Minneapolis. Surviving are the widow, May Hayes Blanchard, who was his second wife: tow children by his first wife, Mrs. Mildred Hofer of Princeville and James Blanchard of Minneapolis; and two children by the second wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell and Robert Blanchard both of Minneapolis. Mrs. L S. Wear of Peoria and Mrs. Etta Hayes of Champaign are sisters. Mr. Blanchard is an uncle of Harry C. Blanchard, vice president of Block & Kuhl Co. The Princeville man’s surviving widow is a sister of John A. Hayes, superintendent of schools of Peoria county. |
