NARA's explanation concerning the entire database (not only Peoria County): There are limitations concerning the electronic Army Serial Number File (ASNF). About 35% of the ASNF records have scanning errors. Also, about 13% of the microfilmed punch card records (approx. 1.5 million cards) could not be scanned into the electronic file. After taking a random sample, it was determined that only 4.7% of the records had any character problems in the name field and only 1.3% had character problems in the serial number field.
