ROBINSON CEMETERY
(or Old Mossville Cemetery)

Partial View of the Cemetery

Robinson Cemetery is located in Section 27 of Medina Township.
It's located in a heavily wooded area on top of a hill. There are
four areas that were surrounded by fences, most of which are
gone. There are some stones, though, that aren't surrounded
by a fence. This cemetery needs some tender loving care;
the existing stones need to restored.

My husband, Mike, has hiked through the woods around this
cemetery since he was a little boy and has heard of repeated
vandalism of the cemetery. When Mike was a lad, he spoke to
the Thorne brothers who lived in the area. They told him a sad story
about a couple of teen-agers who rode to the cemetery on their horses
(in the 1950's), and dug up Thorne's sister who had been buried
there many years before. The teen-agers were later apprehended and
the skull they had dug up was found in the teenager's car. No names
are mentioned here because the story hasn't been verified.

When visiting the cemetery, evidence of vandalism is apparent. We would
love to be involved in the restoration of this cemetery, especially
since the Cliftons and the Crandells are closely related.
