Oertley Cemetery
Oertley Cemetery is located in Section 10 of Akron Township.
This family cemetery is DESPOILED. From the town of Chillicothe, turn onto County Route 19 (Truitt Road in Chillicothe). Drive 7.5 miles to where County Route 19 joins with Illinois Route 90. Continue driving straight on 90 for 2.5 miles & turn right onto Holmes Road. Follow this 1 mile to Oertley Road. Turn left. Gain permission from the farm house on the right to go to the cemetery. It lays in the corn field about 70 yards from the tractor barn. This cemetery is in a patch of high grasses & has several stones - most broken or toppled. It will soon disappear.
