Peoria State Mental Hospital Cemetery

Peoria State Mental Hospital Cemetery is located in Limestone Township. Go west on I-74; take exit 87A (474 exit). Go south on I-474 until you see an exit for Airport Rd. (Exit 5). Take this exit and turn left onto Airport Road. Go past Maxwell Road on into Bartonville. Turn left onto Pfieffer Road past the Bartonville Industrial Park. Turn right on Enterprise Drive. There are three different sections separated by a gully; two smaller sections on one side and a larger section on the other side.

Many of the stones just have a number inscribed. Dr. Zeller kept a book which recorded the number along with the name of the mental hospital patient. It is not now known where this book is located.
