Henry Kroos Mr. Kroos was born August 26,
1853, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. After he had
attended the schools of his home city, he came
in the year 1870 to Peoria and stepped into a
position at the well-known company, Frank Meyers
Brothers Co. He became the "head clerk" and book
keeper. In the year 1874 we find the young man
in San Francisco, California. He remained there
until 6 of January in position with the largest
hardware store in the city. In the year 1881 he
returned to Peoria and has since stayed. Soon
after he married Miss Elizabeth Weisbruch he
stepped back into the same work conditions. Two
children issued to the lucky marriage, a son,
Elwood R. Kroos, who at present a responsible
person working in the Western Stove Works, and a
daughter, Edna Hilda, who in this term stands to
complete "Grammar School". During the time he was here in this city and
land, Mr. Kroos belonged to the well-known
company H. Sandmeyer & Company, and was Vice
President there during the last years. In the
past year the business house burned down and the
company has released him. Since then, Mr. Kroos
has entered private life provisionally. If he
should, by the way, intend to start his own
business, then the desired patronage will not be
missing to him surely, because Mr. Kroos is the
publicly well-known in Peoria and surrounding
areas and at the same time known also as a
forestalling and reliable businessman. Translated by Harry Lundell |
