Carsjen Boomgaarden 

was born on November 30, 1861, in Manslagt, Ostfriesland.  He came to Peoria May 10, 1884 and soon found employment in a supermarket. Already in 1892 he established himself as landlord of No. 601 Warner Ave.  Mr. Boomgaarden is at present Captain of the volunteer Fire Brigade Company No 4.
